I used the podcasts, most of the plans should be the same, to get you running for 30 minutes in 9 weeks (obviously you can re-run, take extra rest days, etc).

Give it another try, just take it slow and steady, especially when the runs start increasing in length.

Post up your progress on here and people will give you advice and encouragement that WILL help you.

Hi and welcome... this will get you through..it already has taken thousands to the nine week runs:)

Take it slow and steady ( my middle names)..listen to your body, which may complain a tad at first, which is normal. Rest days between runs are essential too, and you may take more if needs be.

Non impact exercise on rest days is great too... walking, cycling or swimming for example..strength and stamina need to build up too...and do not compare yourself with anyone..this is your journey..to the 30 minute runs... enjoy.

Keep posting for the most amazing support and encouragement:)

The beauty of the NHS C25k plan is that it makes no demands about pace or distance and is solely duration based.

So you run at your pace. Repeat as you wish and also has the secret weapon for success......this forum.

I've found the NHS C25K easy to follow.

I haven't used apps or podcasts, just followed the plan on the 'week by week' page nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/..., and timed myself using the stopwatch on my cheapo digital watch.

C25k works , you just have to take your time and believe you can do it. If you are not particularly active at all, try a few weeks of 3 weekly brisk walks to get yourself into the routine before you start the 3 weekly walk runs .

The brilliant thing about this is that you don't just get the plan (and the NHS one is best because the focus is only on time) but you get this amazing forum as well. If you do hit a wall we will be here to give you tips and general cheerleading.

The mentors have already said the most important stuff. Take each run slowly, and if you come to a run you can't complete first time it doesn't matter, chalk it up to a practice run and try it again after a rest day. Stretch after each run (there are some good ones if you search 'stretch after run NHS').

Good luck!

Use the Podcasts and enjoy the gorgeous Autumn mornings or evenings. I've just started and on week 2 now, it helps to use the other app to record progress, good luck this time. P.s what's your motivation for doing this?

If you hit a wall don't be afraid to repeat a week or even three! It's all building strength and stamina and before you know there is no wall.

I’ve downloaded the One You Couch 2 5k app and I’m just about to start week 2. It’s a good app as you get to choose your trainer and it records your progress. It also sends you notifications when your next run is due. Whichever app or podcast you decide to use good luck 🍀
