Got to W7 run 3, feeling some sense of winning this war. I'm overweight and I thought I would start losing it but my wife tells me there is no visible difference! During my 25 minute run, I have to stop every 5 minutes for 5 seconds to bring up wind! Does anyone else have this problem or is it because I'm too fat and I eat too fast??
Burp every 5 min!: Got to W7 run 3, feeling some... - Couch to 5K
Burp every 5 min!
Well done you are nearly there!! Some people lose weight, I have only lost a couple of pounds but my flab is most definitely a lot firmer!! I've probably gone down a size too. It takes a while to notice a difference but it will come. I only have water beforehand as I run first thing but even that makes me burp! It's good for the old digestion all this running! If it's only coming out of that end then you are doing well!!!
If you find it a problem maybe leave it a couple of hours after eating before you run. Good luck for the last couple of weeks.
Wife not seeing a difference? Let her join you and she will realise the difference is you can do it. And are doing it.
I’m a right old chubber but the difference is mental and inside.
I’m feeling so much better ‘within me’ if that makes sense.
For the burping I don’t think it’s us chaps being built for comfort not for speed. ( Slow is good)
As Fishypieface says, maybe don’t have as much before you set off.
I have a banana 30 mins before I go and a small glass of water and that’s it.
Here’s to us shuffling portly folk
Well done you... and whether you are looking different or not, you are different. If you finish this and continue running, the improvement will continue. But.. a healthy eating regime is essential linked with the exercise.
Eating quickly is not good for you... and of course you will eat more. Maybe it is contributing..
This is interesting;

Slow down.... running wise and eating wise. Take a look at your meals, and your other exercise on rest days too..( which at this stage should be including stamina, and core strength exercises) and just take it steadily
I am overweight and burp while running, as well, but I don't stop--and I feel so much better afterward!
I always suck on a couple of soft mints in my prerun 5 min walk, usually helps bring up wind before the running starts.
