I've only gone and done it ... this is the third time I've started the Couch to 5K and I've actually got there. I've just tottered in from my W9 R3 and I can't stop smiling. Good job nobody can see me - well only the dog, and he's used to me.
Thank you to this amazing group for the advice and cheer-leading. I've not said much myself because I wasn't convinced this attempt would be any more successful than the other two, and I didn't want to have to admit defeat. But I was wrong. Between you and Jo Whiley I've got there.
So, the plan is to carry on and run the Bath Half next March - to 'celebrate' (or not) my 60th which will be the following week, and hopefully raise lots of money for a wonderful cancer charity which is helping my lovely hubby. I'd never have been able to sign up without you.
Thank you so much

FANTASTIC! What an inspiration you are for not giving up! I bet you feel elated! I'm just at the start of week 6 - the end is in sight and it's getting exciting!
Many congratulations!π it's an amazing achievement and make sure you celebrate in style. Good luck for the next stage of your running journey and keep posting. Happy Monday π
Thank you, I do. I wasn't sure at one point I'd ever get there, but once I'd done W5 I was determined to totter to the end and at some point I really began to enjoy myself. I think it may be addictive!
Oh yes it is for sure. Good luck with the half marathon. I'm planning on doing a 5k Poppy Run as my first post graduation challenge so you are much braver than me. :0)
Fantastic. Congratulations and very well done to you for your great achievement. I agree, once you get past week 5 your on the home stretch. Getting to week 5 on the plan is the hardest part. I must have started stopped C25K at least 10 times.
It clicked this time because of Parkrun and finding this Forum.
Thank you. I still can't quite believe it to be honest. This forum has been an immense help - I'm sure I wouldn't have got my head round it if I hadn't been reading all the brilliant posts on here.
I haven't got a badge since my Farmers badge with the guides in about 1974. If you don't count the 'I am 50' badge which I rather carelessly left in the pub π
Wow, that's what you call determination. Third time lucky and all that!! Very blinkin' well done - you definitely deserve a winner's medal. Great to hear your story
Brilliant! Well done to you - it feels so good to graduate! Good luck with your continued running and I hope that you raise lots of money for worthy causes ππ½ββοΈππ π
Thank you, it feels amazing, and thanks for your good wishes for the future - I'm determined to raise as much as I can in March (even if I'm a pest in the process!)
