Sandwich bag, silica gel, wireless headphones...

No not my lunch! Went running a few weeks back in the rain, and got home to find the pocket with my phone in had a nice little puddle in it... A few hours later in the Apple shop confirmed it was wet, and only option was to replace it (£250) so now the new phone goes in a ziplock bag with some silica gel (incase of condensation, and bought some waterproof Bluetooth headphones. The things you learn a few weeks into the running...

Goodness, poor you! Thanks for the heads up 👍

Oops... I never even thought about that element of getting wet.

An expensive lesson for sure, thanks for letting us know. Sorry it happened though!

I had an mp3 player that got soaked but was able to open it and dry it out.

But I did lose my front door key at Parkrun through a teeny tiny hole in the pocket of my shorts and walked the course again (through forest!!!) and never found it. Got a stronger pocket put in my shorts (cost more than the shorts did) and now put it in two small ziplock bags when running.

I so want the new iPhone as it's a nightmare when they get wet. I always buy shorts with a zip as that seems to keep it dry. I have also got through at least 25 sets of earphones since I started running.... 🙁

whoo yep. I remember well the first run I did in the pouring rain, sandwich bag in hand! Good tip on the silica gel, there's so much of that around from packaging. Cheapo headphones have survived spectacularly so far, touch wood, but good to know waterproof ones exist.
