I am following the programme doing three runs each week and so far have not had to stop during any of the runs although I do find them quite tough. However, I really cannot say that I am enjoying it. Am I alone in this? Does it get easier once you have finished the 9 weeks and are just maintaining the same time?

Hi Katykay, you enjoy the feeling once you've done the run though? 😆...
The program is designed to push you, but be doable. It doesn't get easier you just become fitter and you should find your breathing becomes easier. You should be running nice and slowly and just be able to complete each run. Then warm down and stretch. This is when you feel good. Maybe come onto this forum a bit, share your runs, read how others are doing and compare notes.
You are doing brilliantly and will be able to complete the program..did you know we celebrate that and give you a virtual Graduate badge...😊x
I've completed the programme but I still wouldn't say I enjoy running. I hear people talk about the endorphins kicking in and feeling amazing but I've never experienced that. However the sense of achievement is massive - I've never run in my life and I'm 51! I can run for 30 minutes without stopping (as long as it's indoors on a treadmill) and when I started I struggled with one minute. I have amazed myself and the mental strength I have gained from realising that I can keep going and I can do this, is at least as rewarding as the physical achievement.
You don't have to love it and running isn't for everyone but the feeling you get when you complete week 9 run 3 is AWESOME! Keep going it really is worth it and you never know you might discover your love for running along the way
Do I enjoy the actual runs? Physically probably no as they are hard. Mentally definitely. I take joy from all around me that I see whilst out. Birds of prey, the colours of the season, the land changing with the farmers work. However after the run I feel great from the achievement and the knowledge that I am progressing and I totally enjoy the me time it gives me. You are on the same week as me so you must feel proud of yourself. 25 mins is fabulous and you are too for sticking with it especially if not getting the post run lift. Hope it comes soon. J9 x
