You're not quitting are you???

You're not bowing out are you? You can do this! Your body is just tired - we're all here to push you up onto that podium.

You can't quit now, you'd got so far. You sound as if you're exhausted. Why not rewind to week 4 and do that again and see how you go. Slow it right down. You'll get there eventually.

When I was doing the programme I got as far as week 8 and had to start again with week 1, but there's no shame in that. It doesn't have to be a nine week programme and there is no reason why you can't repeat an earlier week until you're really sure you have the strength and stamina to move on to the next one.

Week 5 is a bit of a killer for all of us. Please take heart and give it another try.

Fingers crossed.

You struggled with a run today CB27 (or can I call you nana)...but you have come too far in the program to let this throw you off...😯

Extra rest days then do W5R2 again and this time take it really slow and steady -no cobbles and be successful. Then take two more days ( at least) and give R3 your best shot...you know it can be done (look at the posts on here! we are not all stuck on W5)

Be kind to yourself..you wanted to do this and you are doing really well. This is just a blip.

Good luck and keep posting.😊x

I am not clicking the heart button here coz I don't like the sound of this....

Whatever has happened can be fixed...if you've had another run & it was a practice there's no reason why you can't start the week again...don't give up...nobody said it would be easy, crikey...Week 1 (or weak 1 as I like to call it) was sooooo very hard for me...Week 2 wasn't much easier either...read through other people's previous posts right from he beginning & you'll see there isn't many of us that have found it easy at all....please keep going, you will feel amazing when you finish the programme xxxx

Please don't give up, you can do this, slowlee slowlee catchee monkee....

9 weeks is not an absolute it's an aspiration for most of us.

What can we do to help you?

It sounds like you have had a couple of bad runs, this can happn as you progress with the program as it is when your pace really comes into play, usually it is around this time when you have to start slowing down a bit to get through the longer runs. I hope you can hang On in there and try again but make a real effort to keep slowing yourself down.

Please dont stop, you can do this!

Run slower, but also dont walk too fast, save your stamina for the runs.

Us more mature ladies may find it tough , but it is do-able! Please keep going πŸ‘πŸΌπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Might also be worth trying a new (flat), route to be kind to yourself πŸ˜ƒ

hey, science says that breathing deeply, exhaling slowly for longer than your inhale, will calm tension and lower blood pressure and heart rate.

I thought that maybe you were still angry yesterday with the mention of cobbles, so maybe ... were you still angry today? Angry running can be...bad.

Would it maybe help to get some space from your recent practices? Come back to it at the weekend maybe, perhaps going to an earlier run (as loads of people admit to!) If it helped you ... even time away from the forum. Not that we aren't lovely here but it's all about running and maybe it's bound up in your recent effort. Whatever you choose is totally up to you. You don't have to ever run again *if* you really don't want to, I don't think anyone's going to rock up and force you out. but we'd love you to carry on of course and we have faith in you. Plus all your runs so far will always serve you, you'll always have run further than those still on the couch.

For what it's worth I definitely think it's strong to come on here and post about every run, as you have. I haven't mentioned *all* my practice runs...

Keep on going. You can do it. Just read your other posts and your journey has been positive. If this week is hard redo the run you are comfortable with before moving on. It's all about progress and you sure look like you've progressed. It doesn't matter if it takes longer than the 9 weeks. I'm sure mine will probably take longer. Keep us posted with your next run πŸƒ

Your profile mentions depression. The brevity of this post smacks of this. Leave it a while and give it another go. You are the one who can decide when the time is right but rather than quit make is a "not at the moment".

Hey if you read my old posts, you will see that I struggle every so often. It seems that my body/mind hits walls which I really struggle with.

I listen to the good people on here, take things slow and easy, try to relax mentally and I go again.

This isn't a race to finish the line, it's all about you getting fitter and stronger physically and mentally. Take longer rest periods between runs and try to celebrate your success rather than look straight towards the next hurdle.

Finally it wasn't an Epic Fail, you tried so you didn't fail, coming last is better than did not start.

Chin up, lace up and go again!

I've been thinking about you ever since you posted. I've realised that week 5 was probably my worst week overall. W9 was hard but because it was so close to the end I was determined. I know I repeated week 3 but there was another week I repeated because I didn't feel confident moving on and I think it was week 5. It coincided with a week away with my best friend. I had an enforced ten days break. I walked some days but that was all. I cam back refreshed both mentally and physically. Take a short break - but not a permanent one. You've come too far.....

Cricky, when I first started I’d been on Week 3 for yonks!!! I was too scared to move on to week 4 but when I did make that move it led to a whole new world...I had a lot of β€˜practice runs’ but they’ve helped me learn how to run, in my own time, at my own pace they’re important those practices xx

For me - and I know this won't be the same for everyone - I feel like I'm a better runner for taking longer to complete the programme. Does it bother me that it took me nearly four months to complete it? Not one bit!

I really hope you'll rethink and keep going (as and when suits you best). You have reached a key point in the programme, having already successfully tackled what are for most of us the most psychologically demanding runs (the first, and the famous W5R3). I am sure you can do this and reap the benefits. I hope you are OK. Please let us know.

I am the 9th born of 9 I would have been really thrilled if my mum had tried something like this
