This morning I went with my friend to the local woods, nice and early to avoid the majority of dog walkers. We got ourselves sorted, I set my alarm to mark the end of the warm up walk, and off we went.
Near the end we had been starting to flag, and had had to slow down and walk a few times. We just put it down to the uneven ground, dodging the puddles and all the hills.
However...
At home I realised what had happened.
Unbeknown to me, the snooze on my alarm was 10 minutes, not 5. So we had run what was more like at least a good 5k, rather tha the 30 minute regular run we had planned.
So I learned this:
1. Check your devices before you start.
2. Sometimes it's nice to not know exactly how far you're going, and just go with it.
3. You can surprise yourself which what you can achieve, usually when you don't expect it!
4. I think we're ready to try Parkrun!!
