Just done my first 30 minutes UNINTERRUPTED run! Me and my pal....we were soooo proud! Only a week to go to the 5k in Inverness, same time as the famous Loch Ness marathon. I think I will manage the 5k but I am worried about my speed, (about 4miles per hour on the flat). Will that be massively slower than most ppl? I know it should not matter, but, you know.... i always use the excuse of my old age....🤔

You should be proud. I really wouldn't worry about your speed. Only compare yourself with yourself; better to run safely than to go too fast🏃🏃‍♀️

Forget speed.. forget excuse.. forget age..just run and enjoy the fact that you are out there running.. as slowly and steadily as you like :)
