WK5R2 has bought me to my knees and tears π but fear not fellow C25K people they're tears of achievement, joy and happiness and did I really just do that? ππ
I'll admit I was a little anxious about this run but I donned my gear and headed out the door with Mr Smooth in my ear and Ed Sheehan playing in the background.
Warm up walk for 5, run for 8, recovery walk of 5, run for 8 and that's when I broke down in tears. Right there. In the middle of the park. With dog walkers watching and did I care? Absolutely not!!! I had just ran for 2 lots of 8 minutes and I still felt as thought I had more to give!!! It felt wonderful π
I shall also remember this run as the run where I found the perfect pace, my breathing found its own rhythm and I was finally at peace with this whole running thing!!
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement so far. I feel ready to tackle and take down WK5R3 which is just over the horizon!!
To everyone that is starting on their own C25K journey or if you're thinking is this for me, can I really do it then the answer is yes!! Yes, yes, yes!! Get out there and you'll soon find yourself falling in love with running ππ»ββοΈβ€οΈππΌππ»ββοΈβ€οΈππΌ

Well done, you have found your perfect pace and breathing, you will breeze the rest of it.
Now grab yourself a little treat and when you look in the mirror be sure to remind yourself that you are an amazing person and that you own the next run.
Well done!!! I'm so pleased for you π€ I'm just heading out for the same. Will let you know how I get on - hope I can live up to your fantastic achievement! Well done you!
Well done you! You're doing an amazing thing - and I say this as a non-runner who found himself this morning at 05:45 heading out the door to run for 28minutes less than two months after feeling like I was stretching myself doing 1 minute Run and 90 seconds walking (to be honest the 5 minutes warm up walk was a bit of a stretch! So keep it up, keep that perfect pace - don't worry if you have a blip at some point and have I said - keep on going! I won't wish you good luck for your next run - I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park.
Absolutely brill well done, you've proved to your self and shown to others that determination and self belief will see you through this marvellous life enhancing journey; stay positive and focused at all times.
What a fabulous post! I am so glad you had such a great experience, and thank you for sharing it with us. You are making brilliant progress. Looking good too
Fantastic! Well done Kim! So many stages seem impossible until we are ready for them and then we shake our head thinking "Did I just do that?" YES YOU DID! And there's more where that came from!! πππΌ
Thank you. I'm actually feeling and starting to believe that I am actually a runner ππ»ββοΈ
Wow Kim, that's amazing! Well done, you should be so proud of yourself. Believe me, it provides loads of encouragement for folk earlier on in the programme like me. Thanks so much for sharing this, and congratulations on making it this far! Keep going
Well done kim I have that run 2night π¬run 3 of this week looks interesting πyou are doing well and I know if yr running on grass it's alot harder then running on pavement well I think so anyway π. Good luck
Well done! I remember W5R2 - I did it on the hottest day of the year (June 22), and had to wait till 9:15 pm for the temperature to drop to a "mere" 28 C! I think I, too found my perfect pace, to the extent that the 5 minute recovery walk wasn't really necessary - after about 2 minutes my breathing had returned completely to normal and I felt ready to run again (but still stuck to the program). It was also one of my happiest runs - the only thing I dreaded was the temperature (in the afternoon it had been as high as 36).
That is exactly how I felt about the recovery walk. Isn't it strange how all of a sudden we start to love running and don't want the walking part to come!
I remember that day as I was in a classroom with 30 kids and the temp was about 39Β° so hats off to you mate for running in it!!
The program is incredible and with the help from the people on this forum I have got to WK5R3 and I'm actually looking forward to running!! Never thought I'd be saying that 5 weeks ago!!
Thank you. Inspiring is a word that I didn't think anyone would say about me. I've been inspired by people like yourself to get out there and do it so I'm glad I can give something back.
Oh....i did the same run tonight. Round the cove just as sun was going down and when i got through the 2nd 8 minutes I was just grinning and couldn't help thinking yep I think I can really be a runner. Awesome feeling π€
Great to hear your achievement. Weve just completed this run too and it felt good. Was chatting to daughter whilst running and not really having to think about my breathing either. Go us!
