Joolz 51 and feeling amazing
At the moment I am going it alone except for park runs which I aim to do every week I am free. There's the C25k plus podcasts for when you have had a few weeks just consolidating the 30 minutes. I tried them the other day and didn't get on with them. But loads of people like them and I am going to give the speed one another go one evening this week.
I think it depends what motivates you. Some people need another target so sign up to a 5k event. Others want to increase their speed or distance gradually. For now I am just enjoying running without earphones and hearing the birdsong in the woods. I aim for 30 minutes running no break and I am not really fussed how far or fast I go.
I am following Bluebirdrunner recent post all about consolidating the distance, pace and time, before I make up my mind. I did look at stepping stones on here, but frankly thought they looked a bit sergeant major like for me at this stage. Me and rolysmate are following the consolidation path, before deciding which way to go.
I figure I need the discipline of a plan as I am a bit too flaky to go totally solo! So for example I have set up 3 weekly reminders telling me to get my trainers and run. Stupid but effective for me.
Hope this helps and happy running in your graduate life
Going to carry on hitting the 5k for now and getting some miles into my legs, will try a few different routes for fun and mix in a few park runs
Then my personal trainer will be taking me in hand, he's a friend who has just taken a step back from competitive sport but I think needs a challenge in life and I think he sees me as that challenge
