It is set up to be a 9 week programme with 3 runs per week, and at least a day between runs. Some people just decide to run every other day, so therefore get through the programme quicker. For others like me I enjoyed the flexibility of the additional days rest once a week and did Sun/Tues/Fri each week.

Goo luck and enjoy!

3 - but don't get hung up on the concept of a week. It doesn't have to be calendar, if for whatever reason a run doesn't work out and you need to repeat it, then naturally that week extends a bit. Loads of us have taken more than 9 'straight' weeks to graduate.

If you do the every other day method I think it can be done in 8 weeks, but the plan is about sustained time, so don't let the 'week' name put you under any pressure.

Good luck with your new running life..

I run Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday... folk arrange the runs to suit themselves, their work and their lifestyle.. the most important thing is to take a rest day..( at least one) between each run:)

Slow and steady and run this journey your way. :)
