To wear glasses or not to wear glasses...

I have tried not wearing glasses when running, I felt a bit sick. So I am now running with glasses but they fall down my nose unsurprisingly! Please can anyone recommend any glasses straps or any other accessory that may help? Prescription swimming goggles are not a solution before anyone suggests that!!

I wear my glasses I havnt notice that problem

I have heard that wrapping hair bands around the arms near the ears works.

Maybe take them into your local opticians to have them tightened.

My mum used to use little rubber grommets in the hinge on each arm, they stopped then sliding.

Any spec savers will tighten the screws for you for free, they also cleaned my glasses for me 😎

I wear sunglasses when running in the sun, but I've never had this problem even for a 10k run.

It sounds as though they are too loose on your face, can your optician tighten them maybe?

I have been wearing varifocals ( ahem) for just over a year having never worn glasses before. I have them super tight on my face however I dont wear them in the rain. Yesturday I ran in the rain and twisted my ankle as I couldnt see the rocks ( I run on a trail) so now I am thinking contacts? I will avidly see what other people suggest.... not up for goggles tho ;)

Oh no! Poor you! Definitely no goggles suggested yet, reminded me of that scene in Notting Hill with Hugh Grant!

Ouch! Hope, you're ok now Ju 🙂

I park my specs in the top of my head and run without them, and hope for the best. Not ideal I know It must be dead annoying and I,hope, you can get them tightened up. I've seen folks running in specs with a thickish band of elastic material going behind their head to keep them on Dunno if they are from the running shop or optician

I have "Keepons" -little plastic hooks that you slip on the arms of your glasses. They're brilliant, no more slipping! However, that doesn't stop the problem of steaming up in the rain....!! You can buy them from Amazon.

Ooooo now they look good! Do you have the ones that look like little levers or the round ones?

I guess the "little levers"? They are soft, clear rubbery things- hook behind your ears. Very comfortable to wear. The web page for Keepons explains how to choose the right size for the arms of your glasses. Hope this helps!

P.S.- meant to say- if you get some, and they are hard to put on the arms of your glasses, put them in some hot water for a few minutes first so they become softer. Much easier!
