i had got up to week 6 run 2 and was feeling great!!! could do it and loved it but then i got an awful cold and hadn't run for a week. tried week 6 run 2 again and couldn't run for even 3 minutes feeling really upset that i was doing so well and now i feel like i'm back at square one anyone had the same happen and how did you get back into it? thank you

Hey illness really knocks you back, your immune system takes a pounding. So now you have a benchmark of 3 minutes which is quite a way back in the programme - no wonder you feel upset, I think we all would. I am no expert but maybe you've tried to come back a bit too soon for your bod?
The best advice I have seen on here is to try and see what you do. It's difficult to tell from your post but do you think although you only did the 3 minutes, could you have done another 3?
Give yourself a well earned rest maybe take the 2 days if that works for your schedule and try a run, no pressure with no timetable. Try the warm up walk and see how you feel running at 3 mins in, if okay try for the 5 minutes and take it from there. That should give you a good benchmark on your restart point.

I don't think you can be back to square 1 after such a short break. More likely you tried a bit too soon or a day you were tired or something. I would treat that as a practise run and try a week 6 run in a couple of days. I am sure you will be fine.
You just dust yourself off and go again. Two weeks is not that long is it 🙂

You just head out again and you take it as slow as a snail on a go slow who has just got over snailitis
