A bit naughty but I did my first week 2 run at the gym today after only finishing week 1 yesterday. I was just going to do some gentle exercise on my recovery day but felt really good with all my aches disappearing this morning. The treadmill also means I can access my water bottle easily and of course avoid the elements. I feel so much fitter even in a week. Really working on my breathing now which made W1 R2 so much more achievable. I am so enjoying this though I'm realistic. Today was a good day but I know there will be bad ones. Thanks for all the continuing support on here.

First run on treadmill
Maximum points for enthusiasm but minus points for missing a rest day. You might well get away with it in the early weeks, however developing the discipline to follow the instructions of the plan is all part of the process, in my opinion.
When you run, you create micro tears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while you are running. No rest, no repair, increased injury risk.
Do any non impact exercise on those rest days, such as swimming or cycling, but please do heed our warning, unless of course you know more about running than the people who devised C25K.
Injury is demotivating, frustrating and probably the quickest way to stopping your running.
Oops... good for the run...bad for the missed day
You are doing so well, it is up to IannodaTruffe and myself to keep you safe ! x
Tut tut Lottie. Trying to get ahead of me on week one. Good to see you got picked up by the rest day police. 🤔😊
