Ok so was sue out yesterday, but the back of my thigh is twingeing. So gave it another days rest and hoping will be ok this evening. What is the best stretch for that muscle as I am obviously not getting to it! Advice please I really don't want it to start...had this a few years back and went on for ages!! Thanks lovely community! 😊

Poor you. Not an expert on stretching or healing but the extra days rest did me good earlier in the programme with my hamstring. Good luck.

The back of my right thigh was starting to bunch up. I've started doing an old Jane Fonda aerobic workout on rest days. Sit on the floor as straight as you can, right on top of your seat bones with legs apart and straight. Bend from the hip, NOT THE WAIST and try and reach your head to your ankle. Hold for 10 seconds and do the other leg, repeat.

Lie on your back with both feet straight out in front of you

Take a band or dressing gown cord and wrap that around the middle of one foot

Bend your knee then lift your leg as high as you can

Straighten your leg gently until you feel the stretch at the back of your thigh

Try to keep your knees straight

You might not be able to get your leg up that high to begin with but do this several times a day and you'll soon notice a difference.

Fab stuff! Keep stretching every day after your muscles have warmed up. It's amazing the difference it'll make. My sports massage lady can't believe how flexible I am but it's all her doing as she was the one who told me to stretch, stretch 🙂

Well done on the run.

Hey Polly, poor you, hope you are back to strength soon....

Are you doing these?:-
