Thigh pain

Having completed W6R3 last week left my legs feeling a bit sore and achey, but now I’m wondering if I have a little muscle strain in my right thigh. Having already had an ankle injury at week 6 weeks ago where I had to rest for 5 weeks I feel like I’m going one step forward and two back.

Having finally got past week 6 and I want to start week 7. I’m worried this niggle will get worse, or I’m I over worrying?

Any advice please? 😟

Have you been doing any of the recommended after run stretches?

Yeah, been stretching before and after, but will look on that website you have advised and make sure I’m doing the right ones and doing them correctly. Thanks for that

Dynamic stretching pre run, static stretching post run as linked to in the guide to the plan.

If you do the static (held) stretches before the run, you're telling the muscles that they can relax now. This is the opposite of doing a warm-up.

Before a run you need to be doing dynamic (moving) stretches and the brisk warm-up walk.

I always do the brisk walk at the beginning every run but I thought because it was a longer run I would extra stretches! Well I got that totally wrong 😱 Will definitely no better for future runs . You can tell I’m a novice runner. Thanks so much for your advice
