Week 3 run 2✅

I usually run around my local park with my dog Rio but not this morning. My husband said he wanted to give C25K a go too and that he wanted to join me before he went to work. To say I was shocked was a huge understatement. It was pouring down outside but he insisted he definitely wanted a go.

So off we went around a beautiful lake just around the corner from our house. Me on week 3 and my husband starting week 1.

We got soaked but I realised I didn't mind at all. Not even the soggy feet at the end. It was very refreshing and kept me cool. It was also a quiet run. Just met a couple of hardy runners, a dog walker and a family of swans.

At the end of the run I asked my husband if he had enjoyed it. "It was all right", was his reply. I hope he keeps going and begins to enjoy it just as much as me.

So glad I went out this morning it has set me up for the rest of the day.

That takes me back. I kept my running a secret for a few weeks as my husband saw running as a fad. He quickly became quite supportive though, and became quite thoughtful after I ran a mile for sport relief. The following week he started C25K himself, sailed through and now, if anything, is more committed than I am. We sometimes run in the same area but not together as he is faster than me, but I tend to run for longer just to get a sense of doing my 5K. It is also great that we both want to include runs when we go on holiday

You should be on commission ;). Well done to both of you - especially in the rain.

Hey you're a C25K recruiter and so early in your running career. Brilliant start to the day well done on getting out there.

I hope he continues.

My wife said that I would never get her running, she had always hated running. I said nothing. By the time I was halfway through she decided to start, refusing to let me run with her.

We have both been running for four years now and agree that it is one of the best things we could have done for ourselves and for each other.

Fingers crossed!
