Watch out snails, I'm catching you up. W7R1

Had 2 lovely rest days. Did some stretches yesterday, otherwise watched the athletics on the telly (does that count as exercise?). Set of for this morning's shuffle and for some reason had a different mindset. Instead of feeling worried about running for 25 minutes non stop, I told myself I'd already done 2 non stop runs so it wouldn't be a problem.

It was really quite strange. I set off stronger and lengthened my stride a little and it felt really good (a bit zen like)! I was still slow but I felt as if I was actually jogging now not shuffling and I didn't get any aches or pains. I was still tired at the end, but no more than on other runs. I ended up running a fair amount further but that doesn't matter. What matters is that I'm enjoying it again. Watch out snails, I'm catching you up. :)

Thank you. I did enjoy the first few weeks but I found weeks 5 and 6 very tough but then a lot of people say they are. So to any of you out there feeling a bit disheartened sometimes - it will pass. Just trust the programme and more importantly yourself!

Athletics on TV, of course it counts. It's a form of NLP. And also you saw all those folk on TV with exceptionally long legs and strides. So all in all great prep for a great run. Longer strides, longer times, Week 7 is toast I am thinking... well done you.

Well done Bareliz😊..strong, happy running is the best...

Watching the athletics does count if it inspires you to go for a run..it's been great hasn't it, really exciting.

Go you...getting stronger, fitter, faster.. (still nice and slow though right😉)😊x

Hi bareliz I'm sure the athletics on the TV count as sport....😊. So good to hear that you're enjoying your running- that's what is all about isn't it? The rest is all a bonus - you are doing so well - a real inspiration & motivation for my next outing.

Thanks ChunkyMonkey. I like to think that if I (overweight, very unfit and nearly 60) can do it, than anyone can. It hasn't been easy but I am at last starting to enjoy it. We're on the home straight now. Good luck with week 7. :)
