I'm starting Week 5 this week. Who'd have thought it!? And I'm enjoying it!! I had a sneaky look to see what my increments were.... 3x5mins, not bad I thought. Run 2, sneaking up to an 8 minuter, ooh I thought they'd all be the same again..... Run 3... 20 mins!!!! OMG. How did people find this jump up??

Do a search on the forum.

Believe in yourself.

You will do it.

No peeking..but, since you have :)... just know that you will do it! You are, as IannodaTruffe says.. quite ready for it... have faith in yourself... and go for it:)

Week 5 is the game changer week most of us find out. But it works and the W5R3 grin is the biggest you'll sport for days afterwards. The smug halo appears and that's it you shine for a long time after

I'm a peeker too, l looked ahead for the whole program as I don't like surprises 😉. I just don't let the runs faze me, I have faith in the program. And you know, it worked. I did W5R3, it wasn't easy but then none of the runs are (that's the point I guess).

I browsed through forum, and figured out that 'slow' was the way to go, and so l went and all was fine :) I also can't run without music, prepared some longer pieces by Miles Davis and trumpeted away with him ;) Push any fears away, you can and you will do this!

This peeking/no peeking thing, again, is very personal. There was no way I was going to embark on any training plan without having a look at what was expected of me, before I started. I had no surprises en route and was excited by the fact that W5 was going to up the ante.

Trust the programme and in the unlikely event that you do not complete the run, you repeat it until your body AND your mind is prepared.

Go for it.

Looking at this forum it seems nearly everyone manages W5r3 first go. What makes us all think we are so special we won't be able to? Take it slow and you will be fine.

I have just started week 7. I found weeks 5 and 6 tough but I completed them. Like others say just believe in yourself and take it steady. Good luck - but you won't need it.

W5R3 is the first time you really feel like you are a runner. It is doable because of all the work you put in to get this far. Whether you look ahead on the program or not - you know that at some point you are going to have to do more than walk a bit and run a bit. You will find it liberating not having to keep stop/starting.

Trust the program

It was surprisingly ok! Go with the programne, trust it. You are very likely be able to do it. IannodaTruffe actually warned me about week 6 run 1, and, blimey he was right. Not sure how 5,8,5 was worse than 20 non-stop but it was HARD. Not that I want to make you nervous of course!! Not my intention. Just advice to take advice from others on here. They've done it and know what they're talking about!

Somehow we just do!

Well done for getting to W5, you've already come a long way. Just believe in the program, keep it slow, slow, slow and you'll get there.

Good luck and happy running!

This system is designed to make almost anyone succeed - sooner or later. If you can't have blind faith - I can't - then remember all the other things in your life that seemed impossible but you did because loads of others proved it was possible. I am thinking: driving a car, being a parent, swimming, riding a bike - whatever. I suspect jogging is no more unattainable. I speak as a newly graduated elder, slightly astonished to feel so good about being a slow-slow jogger of (up to!) 5k.

G'wan, g'wan, g'wan.... x
