Hi everyone,

This is my first post in this lovely community. I just finished my third run of week 4 on a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada.

With any luck I should be done the program before the snow flies, but I want to keep running outside if i can during the winter, and don't want to be deterred by the weather.

Does anyone have any good tips or resources for running in the winter?

Oooh!! I am living in Scotland and am joining a gym for the winter months especially for when it is raining. I don’t mind the cold but rain and cold together would not be for me. Let me know how you get on in Canada and maybe next year I will be braver!!

I have a gym too, in case outdoors doesn't work out. But I'll let you know how it goes!

Our winter is very mild here in the UK and Ireland in comparison to Canada. We don’t get snow as often or the very low negative temperatures. So we can run away outdoors all year round really. I just wear a t shirt, heavier running top and a wind and rain proof jacket plus hat and gloves on the coldest days. Happy Thanksgiving. My brother is coming home from Saskatoon this week for my other brothers wedding. Can’t wait to see them all.

I like the snow when it suits me, but milder winter weather sure would be nice sometimes!

Enjoy the family reunion!

Winnipeg has already had several severe snow weather warnings, blizzards and blowing snow have caused many accidents, I hope no runners were caught up in that weather.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

For cold weather you can't beat layers, gloves ,buff and hat.

Enjoy your journey.

Great for getting to the end of wk4. I live in Scotland and the only thing that stopped me from running was pavements that were like an ice rink . Obviously you are in Canada and your weather is different. Just play it day by day and always experience new things. Good luck and we'll done 😊😊
