Practice run week 2: So I attempted week 2 after... - Couch to 5K
Practice run week 2
Poor you, but big lesson we don't ever fail here, we have practice runs... so it was a practice one. The f word as I understand it is banned! Rest and recuperate, hope you get back soon when you're better
Thank you I will junp back on just hurting me to even walk in so much pain may need to go and visit my doctor tbh I will rest now though I'm going home and going to lay down, sorry for using the F word i will rephrase that I did a practice run and didn't compete it but I will do when my legs are working lol
You should go to the Dr or minor injuries. Serious pain/injury after 90 sec jogging is not normal at all. Legs giving way is a sign something serious may be wrong.
Please refrain from f***ing around here and get yourself checked out.
I am sure you will soon be back.
I have changed the post name and taking out the F word
Well done on your practice run.... we hope it goes better after you've seen the medic, but you're in the profession as I recall, so you know what needs to be done...
Hi Sczoo, that does not sound right at all😯...
You are in the nursing profession so do get yourself checked out...
As you are running on a treadmill, and I'm assuming quite a young guy, I just want to ask what sort of speed you have set the treadmill at. This is a beginners training plan, the walk sections need to be *brisk (just a little faster than your normal walk) and the run section just fast enough to get you into a jogging motion (not a full on run)
At the gym you always see experienced runners pelting away on the treadmill and I'm worried you might think this is whats expected. Its not.
We gently train ourselves to run for slightly longer times and condolidate to build stamina. You say you also do strength work at the gym..if you are working your leg musles hard after a run session and then running on them they won't have had chance to rest and repair...
Just my observation and probably I'm wrong. I just feel what we call "running slow'might not be what you call 'running slow'.
Take care and don't run until you are better.xx
Hey all, thanks for your ongoing support so went to doctors and he examined and said I have damaged both tendons in my knees, so no running for the
Time being, I'm sat here with 2 knee supports on and keeping leg elevated, also gave me painkillers did say that I am allowed todo cycling or swimming - so I'm gonna take it slow until I'm recovered thanks again all xx
Thats cycling OR swimming sczoo..
Gently does it..x
That sounds really painful - especially in both knees! Rest up well and don't be afraid to request physio support if you need it. I hope you recover soon.
Hope you took the advice and got it checked out!
So sorry to hear this mate, as everyone is saying rest and get yourself checked out. Fingers crossed for you hope its nothing too bad. Take care.
I ended up damaging both of my Tendons in my knees (both) so I've dossed up with painkillers and brought 2 knee supports and going to take it easy only happens to me lol! I'm sill allowed to bike the doctor said so I'm doing that for now as don't want to stop completely, being a nurse I know not using your joints regular makes them stiffen and harder to recover so I'm just taking it nice and slow I will be back to running when I've made a full recovery - until then I'm gonna eat sensible and bike 😊
