I did it.... still can't believe it!

Finished W9R3 today! I'm in utter shock that I was able to do this, if you had told me 9/10 weeks ago I would be able to run 5k without stopping I would have thought u mad.

I started this programme having only ever ran in PE in secondary school 10 years ago and always bringing up the rear and walking 60% of the track.

I have never liked running but needed to get fit and a challenge to do it. So I started C25k, the programme is great, it slowly builds you up and gives u little milestones to achieve that makes you feel great.

In this run I really pushed myself and after 5 minutes I felt I had gone to quick and was starting to struggle, I slowed it down and had quicker and slower spells throughout the run. In my other two week 9 runs I have only even gone 4.2km in the 30 mins, so I can over the moon to do aswell as I did!

Thank you everyone for the support during my journey, this forum has been pushing me when I thought the next run would be impossible. It has given me confidence that slow is good and this has allowed me to build up my stamina to really really push myself on this run! I honestly could not have ran any faster on this run and felt sick during spells of it, as I'm use to slow and steady but really wanted to push on this run and see what I could do and again the programme amazed me it how it has improved my fitness!

Good luck to everyone still on heir journey to graduation πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“

Congratulations. You are doing great.

One word of caution regarding Fitbits, they are notoriously inaccurate even when calibrated to your pace.

Keep running keep smiling.

Thanks, yea a few people have told me about fitbits distant measurement problems. So I run map my run along side my Fitbit and stopped when that said 5k which was 33.36. So hopefully one will be right lol fingers crossed 🀞

Out of curiousity, was there much deviation between the two?

Fitbit said 5.5km in 31 mins. Map my run 5km in 33.26. So a fair bit

My fitbit can be a km out. Don't bother with it on runs.
