W2 R2 - Mixed things up!! So much to discuss...

So again I went on a morning run and I have loved it!!! 😁 Sun was shining blue sky what a day it's going to be..

Today I mixed things up firstly by changing my music choice, gone for something a little more gentle, it was The Rat Pack tickling my ears today 😊

I also changed my trainers... have been running in some old Nikes, however in my wardrobe I have a 'newer' pair of Nike Tavas - been there for a few months only wear them out casual now and again - after reading up on them, they aren't 'proper' running trainers but okay for shorter distances so thought I would give them a go. Oh my days what a difference!!!! It literally felt like I wasn't touching the pavement!

By the start of the last run I was actually smiling because it wasn't till that run that my legs started to ache. Is that because of the trainers? The music? The lovely morning weather? Is it because I'm doing strength and flex on rest days like oldfloss says?? I don't know.. but im determined to keep it like that!

I must have gone farther today as well because in my cool down walk I had to add an extra loop!!

After much thought and reading of people's posts last time out I decided against a tracking app until I get further into the programme and for now just enjoy being out there on the road.. well pavement..

Happy days all and thanks for being on this journey with me so far ❀️

Ps photo of me is post run..

It sounds like your trainers have put a spring in your step - well done! Blue sky here too so I think I'll be adding some ELO to my run playlist for for next time out. I agree with you on the tracking apps etc. Having used Strada today for the first time just to check my route's distance I'm ditching it for a while as it is probably more of a distraction than a help at this stage. I've just finished week 2 and won't look again now until much nearer the end of the programme I think.

Great job! Don't worry about running apps. They only do your head in. Except for COuch to 5k one that is 😁

Going steady is the way to go. Have fun with the Brat pack πŸ™‚

What a brilliant rosy glow you are sporting. We absolutely love shades of red here. Well done well 2 nearly in the bag

I think all helped. They all suggest you were in a good place mentally before the run - makes all the difference. I also recently read that feeling the part improves your performance, so the trainers helped in that way too.

Cant believe the photo is post run. I'm red for about half an hour after at least!
