Week 5 Run 2 .... and it was going so well until now

Completed run 2 of week 5 yesterday. I hadn't looked ahead at what was in store so got a surprise when Laura told me there would be two 8 minutes runs. I slowed it down and completed both runs but when I got home I started feeling some pain in my Achilles' tendon. I took some ibuprofen but it was still sore this morning.

Reluctantly I have decided to take a break from the program as I don't want to aggregate it any more, especially with a family holiday to Florida coming up next week.

So I am going to rest up, enjoy the holiday and see how I fell when I get back.

Really gutted as it was going so well, my breathing had got better to the point were I wasn't having to think about it and I was feeling a great sense of achievement after completing each run, so much so that I was looking forward to the dreaded week 5 run 3 later this week.

Listen to your body, you're doing the right thing. Chill in Florida and come back healed and ready to run. X

Well done.... and take a rest.. massage those muscles, do some gentle exercises and feel confident that you will be fine after your wonderful holiday!

Sounds like the holiday has come just at the right time then. Rest and enjoy and who knows you may sneak in a cheeky Jogette whilst in Florida...

It's going to be two weeks going round the theme parks so plenty of walking. I'm going to take my running shoes but only because they are comfiest shoes for walking.

Have you had shoes fitted after gait analysis?

Yes, I had my gait analysed and bought shoes before I started.

Not what you're looking for?
