Week 5 run 2 completed 💪🏻 I’m not going to lie, it was tough! I really don’t think I’ll manage run 3 with that 20 min run. I found the 2 8 min runs hard enough 🙈

Your body is more ready than you think it is - just take it extra slow at first if you are worried and then go to your normal pace when you are comfortable. I thought that and I ended up doing it - a lot of it is mental as well, so if you have the right attitude whilst on the run, that will help you significantly.

Good luck! :)

Well done on your progress.

If any run is tough, just slow down.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

W5R3 is the shortest workout since W3 and you are ready to do it.

This explains it all healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Slow down, relax, believe in yourself and enjoy your triumph.

Stay positive and trust the programme. I know that first 20 minute run feels daunting, but all you have done to date makes you ready. I think that completing W5 R3 is one of the best feelings I’ve had on the program so far (I’m currently in W8) so I wish you the best of luck! Also I personally prefer the runs with no interval walks - settle into your pace (start slow, and then go slower if you need to), and just keep on going. You can do it!

Every run you do causes damage to your muscles - all perfectly normal. On your rest days, your muscles heal and adapt to the stress you are putting on them - they get stronger! You get fitter on your rest days, not your running days! By the time you do your next run, you will be fitter than you were on your last - concentrate on that thought as you run. Good luck 👍
