Dog do and a hill

Well this morning I got R2W5 out of the way with no real dramas. With the longer running I am always changing my routes and yet, despite living in Suffolk, I always seem to find myself at the foot of a hill either at the start of the last run or as today, 4 minutes into the last run. Very pleased to get to the end.

On arriving home I thought I would just check under my shoes as I had found a track with wood chip on it and felt I had got some stuck in the tread as I was sure I could feel something when I hit the tarmac again. Sure enough there was a small tree wedged in there. As I turned the other shoe over I discovered a softer brown mass, yep dog do! Yuk. I have dogs and I am sure I don't leave anything offending for unsuspecting runners, even before I was one. You would think that the owners could at least kick it of the track.

Anyway a lesson learnt, keep eyes peeled when running on tracks.

Yuk. Stretching after Park run this morning found dog mess on the grass about 10 steps from a dog mess bin. Some dog owners so irresponsible.

Well done on the run. Enjoy the next.

There are some anti-social people who think they are above picking up altogether. I've seen some smartly dressed women with well groomed dogs like this, obviously aware of what their dog has done but sadly too far ahead of me to do my "Would you like a bag?"

There are others who don't intend for their dog to leave mess and would clear it up if they saw it but don't pay enough attention, despite it being reasonable to expect it is going to happen. (I find the 5 minute warm up so useful for this as it usually gets business out of the way)

And there are an awful lot of people who rationalise that it is OK out in the countryside/woods (not helped by some silly 'stick and flick' signs in some places - clearly not very familiar with the stuff) But people do use the countryside and woods. And there's livestock. And it changes the soil affecting the flora.

Bark chip can hide a multitude of sins. Yuk 😕

Tell me about it... we laid bark chip as a quick fix for a sitting out area. Google thinks we made her a huge litter tray... (we have lawn and we have concrete)

Errrgh! my nephew got his 50 milestone Parkruns and to celebrate were going into the cafe after, but he couldn't come in as he had another present on his shoe to get rid of first! yes! You guessed it! Makes me fume!😤

Oh dear.... not funny! Keeping eyes peeled is a good policy... I surprised a pheasant one morning!

I don't have a dog, but agree with your sentiments and advice. I did have the famous toad, who I think pooed on my doorstep.... now that was horrid! Well done you on working your way through Week 5
