A quick hello from me. Outside today is pretty cold at -4, I don't mind the cold but I was reminded by Oldfloss from her recent post about running on ice and figured today would be the day to heed her wisdom and so I headed down the gym.
I guess I am lucky that I have a gym membership to fall back on, I joined last January and went quite regularly until restarting C25K in October. My last visit was during week 9 in December when the outside conditions convinced me a visit was required - I have to say whilst it was useful in keeping me on the straight and narrow with completing C25K I hated it!
So I was not overly keen to head back there today, I had managed 2 consolidation runs this week but wanted to make sure I got a 3rd one in.
This time was not quite as bad as the last, for a start my watch and the treadmill more or less agreed with the pace I was doing so there was a lot less confusion on my part on whether I was going to run out of steam. I got to about 15 mins and started to struggle mentally to keep going - I really don't know how I didn't burn a hole in the wall with the Paddington stare I was giving it - once I got to 20 mins I knew I was on the home straight!
All in all I think it was the right decision today! I took the dog out for a walk yesterday afternoon and he was like Bambi at times - I didn't want that for myself today on my run!
