So am technically inept and would like to do two things on the forum - the biggy is to tag folk like oldfloss to give credit where it's due, but I don't know how.... I use an iPad and my phone.
The second is where do you get all those sexy emoticons from?
Finally how on earth do you add in photos the right way up, as so far I have managed a sideways view of a road and one of a toad.
Any tech person out there who can help a fool? P.s. I did search the help function but it seemed only to focus on privacy issues ....
Hi Jan. I can't help with much as new to the forum, and I can't even seem to get my profile pic to appear central! That isn't me being artistic showing one quadrant of my face!
If I use my iPhone I just use the emoji's in the standard way from the keyboard. I am obsessed with them tbh. But today I am on the laptop and can't use any.
If you type the @ symbol the start typing in the name the drop down box should appear Hidden have a practice! The photo issue is more tricky sometimes mine work other times not!
Okay think we have some answers which may help us both here. My pic I ended up having to crop down to size but in my header for my profile page the top of my head is all across the screen, so I think that's a fix for another day....
Okay.. to tag... start with the @ button. then begin to type the name of the person...hover over it and a list appears of the names under your post and you click on the one you want...e.g. Hidden
Emoticons should be on your phone? There should be a setting on your phone for editing photos? i.e. rotating! You have to format it before you post it on here... Does this help at all?
Ipad and iphone have the emojis on the keyboard, where the smiley face is left bottom corner. If you havent got them it is probably because you are not updating the software when indicated by Apple.
As aliboo70 says, leave a space then type the @ then no space and start typing the name....easier if you use capitals in the right place etc. If you are on your phone you wll need to close the keyboard to be able to see the drop down menu to select the linked name.
Ps if need be turn the phone and take a photo landscape too and choose the best to use. But ideally just rotate before you post. If the first one comes up sideways on the draft post, delete and rotate it then repost, or use the landscape copy instead
I use a free app for the photos (it's called "live collage", but there are probably better ones out there). It lets me make a collage of photos, and ensures they stay the right way up!
Okay I think I may take this one enhancement at a time. Happy I can tag, next stop pesky photos.... thanks for telling me about this one, I really had no idea
Can help you on the emoticons, if your update are up to date then the little sphere/globe on the bottom of the keyboard, press on that & it should bring them up!
Can't help you on the photos, mind tend to come up sideways apart from today's post, not sure how to tag either maybe try it Jancanrun
Ah so weird stuff on mine I just get a French keyboard when pressing the globe I got tagging to work as Oldfloss said - type @ and then the user name, so Runningraspberrydiva should tag you. Photos Is a matter of crop and rotating apparently.. that's next for me to try.. emoticons may need investigating...
Couldn't agree more about OldFloss. She's been inspirational and kept me going when flagging. 😊 I also want to thank Iannodatruffe as he's amazing too. I'm taking two rest days this week before attempting W6R3 as I think it's a real biggy for me and I've found W6R1 and R2 quite hard both physically and mentally. I think I must be really odd as my running is more of a shuffle and I can actually walk faster than run so Without support and encouragement from this forum I know I'd have give up by now. Thanks everyone. 🏃PS has anyone found a 'shuffling' emoji?
