Hello everyone I am new to C25K and a little intimidated. I'm on wk 2 and happy and surprised because I have never run before. I'm trying to pursue and keep moving forward and be forgiving should I have a tough day and be willing to repeat that session so I feel more sure moving to each next step. Any thoughts?

Hello to you 😊 Try not to be too intimidated. The programme works and has helped many non-runners to become runners over the course of a few weeks. It will work for you too!

Yes be kind to yourself but balance that with a bit of determination; there maybe times when you procrastinate and make excuses (I know I did).

Drop in here often. There is lots of support and good advice on the forum. Enjoy your running journey πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸƒ

Hello. You've found the best beginner running program and a wonderful forum. It's been posting on here for advice and encouragement that kept me going through hard times and just as importantly gave me people that I could share my success with. By all means repeat a session if you need to (I did loads and loads of repeats after "practice runs" - that's what we call sessions that didn't quite work out right!), but don't repeat just because you feel apprehensive about the next session. Most importantly try to enjoy the journey - in the first place I didn't and that was a sad mistake. I do now and for example yesterday I went out for an extra 40 minute slow run for the simple reason that I wanted to. Keep running: keep posting.

Hi and welcome to this super programme!

Many, many have started this with feelings like yours and moved through to Graduation with very few issues:)

Firstly, try, (and it may be hard), to lose the feeling of intimidation... and replace it with a feeling of expectation and confidence. The programme works.

It gets folk to the thirty minute runs, often in the nine weeks. If you follow each run and each week, slowly and steadily, ( and you will hear that all the time on here). listen to your body , take your rest days and try never to push to hard you will do this!

The idea is, to have fun; this is a great journey and the benefits, physical and mental are incredible!

With each run, you get stronger, building up your running legs, slowly, and increasing your stamina and your strength. Take other, non impact exercise on your rest days, walking, swimming, yoga cycling... lots of options... Strength and flex can be useful too:)

So... put a smile on your face, keep posting, keep running and enjoy!

I bet you won't have to repeat anything, but if you do then no matter πŸ™‚

The programme is progressive, and if done slowly enough, should allow you to move on on each week πŸ™‚

Good luck, have fun! πŸ˜ƒπŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘βœ”οΈ

Hey we are all here to help, there isn't one of us who hasn't had some kind of doubts from the omg can I even manage 60 seconds, right up to the silly stuff 'do my feet look big in these trainers?'

Whatever the issue there's someone here especially mentors like oldfloss who can help you out. And when you just want to scream and shout that you had a cracking run then please do so, we love to hear it. Never ever be afraid of repeating a run, it all helps and there's no one here who would damn you for doing so. Repeating often helps build confidence and a confident runner will always move onto the next step. Good luck with it all - we all know you'll do very well.
