I've been lurking for a bit since week 4 when I couldn't quite believe I would have to run for 20 minutes the next week and had to come on here to check if it was a mistake!

I am loving the programme and really surprised that it is working for me - so far so good :-)

I wanted to get into running because I'm starting to feel my age (43 as of yesterday) and need to be more proactive to keep up my fitness, I cycle a lot just to get around but I thought I might not be doing enough weight-bearing exercise to ward off osteoporosis and the like. Plus I wanted a free activity I can do outdoors - being in the fresh air does amazing things for my general sanity.

I've got 3 kids aged 12-4 and the beauty of running is it's easy to fit in around them. I love being out first thing in the morning when the day's just starting, on my route down by the river.

I've never imagined being A Runner before but on week 7 and I can already feel the addiction starting...

The support on here is fantastic, thank you all!

I love it when I can hear that passion kicking in! It's a fab programme isn't it? I returned to runnning a little later than you but for similar reasons and now cannot imagine not having it in my life - never thought I would be fitter at 52 than I was twenty years ago! Good luck with the rest of the programme!🙂

Thank you :-)

Happy birthday for yesterday. I turned 55 yesterday so you are still young. Achieved my goal of graduating before my birthday - just. First post graduation run and first Park run tomorrow. Enjoy the last few runs of the programme and the rest of life as a runner. I also never imagined myself runner but somehow I seem to have become one.
