Feeling super disheartened

W2r3

Had a few days off as I was working and super busy. By a few I mean Friday, sat and Sunday.

Back at the gym today (after being at chessington all day on my feet) and tried the w2r3 and it almost seemed impossible. Last run was super easy (w2r2)

I pushed my self so hard and finished when I was close to giving up at the half way point.

I then done 20 lengths in the pool and struggled to even do that!

Has 3 days off really had that much impact or is it because I'm tired from being out all day?

When I say I nearly gave up I mean I was almost passing out 😂

Well done for finishing but it sounds to me like you are pushing yourself unnecessarily. Three days break won't be a problem but doing the run after being on your feet all day was going to be a challenge and then a swim too... I would take a couple of rest days and try your next run after a slightly less active day. I am sure you will find you are back to your old running self.

Sounds a lot running and swimming!

I've always ran and swam after. I suffer with shin splints so it's just a way to take the pressure off and relax after a run ☺️

I use bannatynes gym :) really lovely! I find it keeps me going having a nice gym to use x

There are good runs, ok runs and tough runs (and probably all sorts of shades of those) Don't be disheartened by one dodgy run. You are in this for the long haul. Put it down to experience: running after a long day on your feet is best avoided and move on to the next one😊

So true, but I have ok runs and tough runs... holding out for the good run though it's gonna happen some time soon 😂

It will happen when you least expect it and looking the other way 👍😊

You'll have good runs and bad runs. Don't beat yourself up. Put it to the back of your mind.

You could also redo w2r2 and get back some of that "I can do this!" feel good factor before proceeding.

I plan on repeating w2r2 before moving to week 3 just so I can move on feeling comfortable. Going to leave it today and try tomorrow x

Sounds like a plan. Believe you will do it. As so many others say on this forum: "If I can do this, anyone can." Just listen to Laura and take it one step at a time.
