It is hard but this is a great place to start. I hate exercising but the C25K starts off gentle to ease you in and most importantly you go at your own pace. I wouldn't think of C25K as a 9 week programme but just one run at a time. If you enjoy one session then you'll surprise yourself by wanting to run again in a couple of days and before you know it you may even have finished one of the weeks. I've only just joined this forum and it is excellent for support. I hope you find it as invaluable. Good luck :)

Great response!!!!

Go as slowly as you need to......think jog, not run.

Always have a rest day between runs.

If you don't complete a run then you repeat it until your body is capable of doing it.

In no time at all you will notice improved recovery times and you may surprise yourself and find you actually enjoy the running.

Good luck.

C25k is brilliant and well worth a try. It helped me tone up quite a bit. Good luck.

Hi there, good on you for getting to this forum. A great place for non judgemental support! Everyone here just encourages. I had never excersised before in my life. At 46 I decided to start this program. I wish I had taken some 'before' photos and measurements. Even though I have had loads of people comment on how much fitter I look and my weight loss, I would love to know now many cm I've lost from my bulgy places. I know my clothes feel better, and I feel different. Less tired and more positive. Good luck and remember, even getting out there for a walk is getting off the couch! Good luck.

HI! Welcome to the nicest place on 'tinternet' :D Can I suggest that you see weight loss as a by-product of your running rather than the reason behind it? Run because it's an exciting new challenge to accomplish, a life style change, a step towards being healthier in both mind and body. Concentrate on the running, then notice the result. :) The all-round advantages are much more numerous than weight loss. Take one day at at time, one run at a time, and hang around here for everyone to cheer you on your way.
