Weekly run chat 17th of July to the 23rd.

Hi everybody,

Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju, RFC and Pops

Left it a bit late for my run this morning ( midday) and my alter ego Jan-now-runs had to kick Jan-not-so-keen out the door..😆

Is that a knee twinge? is my ankle ok? Isn't it a bit warm?

Do it says JNR...you can stop if you want to..

So I did it and didn't need to stop after all. At 15 mins it all seems much easier, I guess thats when you are running aerobically...stride lengthens and feel more relaxed.

Just 30 mins..but I'm pleased I did it.

Happy running everyone😊x

Went out quite late tonight- figured that a few minutes running on a treadmill doing gait analysis didn't really count as going for a run!! (No new shoes yet, but now I know what I'm looking for...:) )

Anyway - was going to try 15 minutes running (instead of 10 run/3 walk combos) - looked at watch at about 12 minutes and estimated where I would be at 15 minutes. Next time I looked it said 16!! So I decided to run to a place where I knew it was a 5 minute walk home and ended up stopping my watch at 18 mins and felt I could easily have gone further!

I have struggled to fit running in the last two weeks what with work, two young boys AND to top it off my 10 month old ending up in a and e at the weekend. I managed to squeeze in a 35 minute run on the treadmill at work on Monday but I'm determined to get out in the morning for a proper run! I'm still new to having a go at treadmills and I'm not sure whether I like them or not. Took me 28mins on Monday to find my pace and settle into the run only for it to be over 7 mins later. Anyway looking forward to a proper run in the morning. 💪🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Thanks JNR, he is much better now (nearly back to the cheeky monster!) he had a nasty virus that turned into croup.

I get up at 05.15am and get out for my run before 05.30. That way I'm back before my Husband has to go to work and hopefully before the boys wake up. Running has become my headspace and my time, I've been getting proper cranky and stressy without one!

Second run done and dusted... thought about a B210k run, but not really wanting walk breaks at the moment. So just a 30 + run again...

I did wk6 r3 this morning - was a bit worried about it as felt like another jump to 25 mins non-stop after split runs this week. But I loved it! Found my rhythm, did what Sarah said, and I even wanted to speed up in the last minute as suggested. Could it be that I am now.. . A Runner?!!

Thank you 😊 I would never have predicted this a year ago! I've never been able to run before - in my 20s I used to row competitively and every time our training involved running I got awful shin splints so I just stopped trying. This programme really works!

I just wanted to say "Hi". I stumbled upon this page and am quite pleased that I did. Everyone seems so positive and friendly.

A little bit about me... I work in a school where I support children with autism. Last year one of my students wanted to compete in the cross country races. Awesome! However, I could not keep up with his running and had to ask his parents to attend the race for safety concerns (the student is labelled as a flight risk). It was more then slightly embarrassing for me to no be able to do my job. My student did fantastic and this year I am hoping to be fast enough to run the race alongside of him. That was my initial motivation. Now I am in it for the benefits to me. My husband is finally working locally this year so I have the ability to go out for runs. This is the year for me.

I just completed w5d3. We don't have "park runs" here but I am signing up for a race in October (I haven't decided if I want to just do the 5k or attempt the 10k.)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend
