I proudly graduated on 3rd July, and enjoyed every week.Where do i get my graduation medal.. Seriously though,is there an app for running 30 mins plus, that anyone can recommend? I'm 57 so not really interested in becoming a marathon runner, just doing it for fitness and enjoyment.
Proud Graduate.: I proudly graduated on 3rd July... - Couch to 5K
Proud Graduate.
Tagging on here to read the replies - I'm a little way off still and just starting W7 but now know that I will finish the Programme because of how far I have come and how little I have to do to complete. I don't want to lose motivation and I do want to keep up and extend the progress I have made. On my last run I did about 3K in the 25 minutes so I should be able to increase that distance over the next weeks. There is a tentative proposal to do a 10K in September with a running friend who is much better than I am - she would be kind and supportive but I don't want to commit myself yet.
I'm a little older than you, Steve, and am delighted to find this thing in me at this unexpected time of my life. Who'd a thunk it?
Congrats on graduating! I am using the 10k Runner and 5k Pacer apps to work on distance and speed... both speed and distance being relative to my (lack of) ability π
Thanks Cliff, I'm sure you have more ability than you give yourself credit for.ππ»
What's the 5k pacer app? I have no interest on, or time to, run more than 5k but really want something to keep me motivated after I graduate (which might be tomorrow). That sounds like just the thing.
Can you get these apps for Apple
Congratulations, great achievement π
Well done for graduating SteveEπ
Feels great doesn't it.βπππ
You get your badge by asking on the pinned post below Graduation Badges July..someone from admin will then sort you out...
As far as your running from now onwards, there are c25k+ podcasts on the Nhs healthunlocked site or you can carry on using Week 9, maybe your own music... its really up to you.
Its a good idea to continue with the 30 min runs to consolidate and build up your stamina and legs. Just by regular running you will find in time you are covering more ground, and you sound like you enjoy having reached this level of fitness that lets you run for 30 mins. I do tooπ..
Thanks Jan, I didn't realise that there was a graduation badge.
I have continued running and ran a little further in the 30 minutes . I was thinking of extending the runs by 2 minutes each week, just to give myself a target π―
Actually Steve, its a little grey smudge next to your name, with the word Graduate on it............but we are all proud of it and so should you. Congratulations.
I can't help with apps, but there are three NHS c25k+ podcasts, if you can stand the music. And of course there is parkrun, which everybody should try, in my opinion.
IannodaTruffe 's right, the badge we talk about is virtual... although there is a real one available to buy too (see pinned posts) which is rather nice.
[Age is not a barrier to marathon running, it is simply a matter of whether you want to do it and have the time to devote to training... we've a forum for that!]
We have no idea when we take that tentative first step of the programme, quite where our running will take us.
I found myself in a ten mile race! How the heck did that happen π I wondered who the hell I thought I was kidding, but then saw so many other older women runners, that I thought stuff it,who cares, I am having so much fun
I am 60 soon and training for my first marathon, so never say never Steve π
Running for fun is brill. I love the complete freedom of it. I hope you will too
I absolutely love it. I explore new bits of my area all the time. Sometimes take my neighbour's dog on a recce first π
Got him here today for ten days. Gulp
