The good news is that I have finally got myself a rescue dog (Betzy, a Staffie crossed with something - a Springbok to judge by the height of her jumps from a standing start ) and she's an excellent canicross companion, the bad news is that she wants to run a bit faster than me and that or something else has damaged my right Achilles (a problem I had several times when starting C25K that I thought I'd overcome). At the moment I can walk her 3 or 4 km before my ankle starts to feel sore but running is out of the question - I did try a short run when I thought it was clearing up and went straight back to square one
She walks much better now (until she sees a cat/dog/squirrel/bird anyway) so I'm hoping that when my ankle clears up we'll be able to run together at my pace rather than hers!

What a beautiful dog! Sorry to hear about your injury but hopefully your time on the IC will be time well spent with Betzy so that you can have some lovely runs with her when you're back on form xx
