50- something year old guy...Two years after some grizzly hip surgery I'm doing my best to start some gentle running again. Looking forward to being able to achieve a 5k..prior to surgery I was training for the London Marathon.

Good luck getting back to it Adrian. I've not had hip surgery but have had prolapses and a fracture as well as a knackered thyroid so can identify with what you're going through... completed my second parkrun this week and loved it.

Good luck!

Parkruns are fantastic. I love Saturday mornings now. I have done 7 Parkruns so far and volunteered at 2. It is great now because I am getting to know some of the other runners. I am in a personal quest to run a sub 30 minute 5K so try and beat my last time each week. PB at the minute is 32:07.
