Starting W1R1 tonight! Quite nervous to see how well or how bad I do, does anyone know if this programme can be done on a treadmill??
Starting tonight!: Starting W1R1 tonight! Quite... - Couch to 5K
Starting tonight!
Have no fear starting trust the programme and have faith in your own ability. As to the treadmill quite a few people on here use the treadmill right up until graduation some also mix it up and bit a session on the mill and a bit outside.
Welcome and well done for taking the first step. Take it slow and steady and keep us posted.
Good luck and believe in yourself. You will enjoy. Treadmill is fine. Try to enjoy the outdoor with plenty of fresh air and beautiful scenery. That's what keeps me going.
It doesn't matter how 'well' you do, only that you do.
run as slowly as you want, the slower the better. And even if you find you can't manage all of the session, that's fine too. You just use that as your starting point and keep practicising until you can.
Treadmill s fine btw.
Don't be nervous. I have nearly finished and I can tell you it works. The only way you can fail is if you give up. Every week you run further than you ever have before which is such a buzz.
Enjoy.
I did my first run on Monday, I was thinking about it all day as I couldn't go out until my husband got home and he got home late! He made me go and get ready. I felt a real buzz after it. I am doing run 2 at lunch time today and although my muscles in my legs are aching, I am really looking forward to it :)... good luck, let us know how you get on.
First run is the hardest. The programme is as much a mental challenge as a physical one. It does work - good luck
hi have to agree with nikki to me it was more of a mental challenge than a physical one as the program builds up up slowly so you can cope with it
do not over think it the more you think about it the more you think on the negatives at least that was how i felt ( the Gremlins are your no 1 enemy but easily beaten)
good luck
Welcome and good luck.
C25k is your training plan. You are in control. You decide when to run and then the following day is a rest day from any impact exercise. This is a crucial part of the programme and should be observed at all times. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to do each week. If you don't manage to complete a run, then you simply repeat it, building up your strength until you can, then you move on. The progression from week to week is superbly designed to help you make progress quickly and you will see results in just a couple of weeks.
Learning to run is as much a mental process as a physical one, so bear that in mind if things get tough. A positive attitude is essential as you face challenges that you may never have believed you could overcome. You will. This programme works.
We were all nervous at the start. So don't worry. I hope you learn to love running as I now do (much to my surprise). Just take it slow and believe in the programme.
