Hooray, week 3 completed!! This running lark is proving to be far more fun than I had ever anticipated. Over the years I have taken great pleasure in watching red faced puffing people struggling down the road, sweating heavily and looking dishevelled whilst I drove passed them to the chip shop or got a lift to the pub (usually less than five minutes walk from wherever I happened to be living at the time). Surely that can't be good for you I thought with my finger pressed firmly on the irony button.
Wind the clock forward to 2017 and here I am, not a born again fitness fanatic, but a reprogrammed 47 year old man with three kiddies aged 10 and under who would like their Daddy to hang around for a while, playing football, reading stories, being jumped on. Well just being there with less prospect of suddenly not being there.
3 weeks after stepping out of my front door full of doubts I now find myself looking forward to the 5:15am alarm on Monday and the beginning of week 4 and the mid point of this fabulous endeavour.

Well done! I'm 60 later this year and having had various health problems thought it was about time to get fitter. I don't find it easy, but I do feel better for doing it. My kids are grown up but I still think it's good for them to see me achieve stuff. After all, if an old so and so like me can, there should be no stopping them ;). Enjoy week 4.
