Well tonight was the night. New trainers from running shop plus my funky new injinji toe socks (to try) all placed upon my strange feet. Headed out and managed to do 3.72km in my 31 mins.

Happy with that for first time in many many years. Clackmannan to Dunfermline cycle path was my place of pain, nice cool breeze, damp but I was out. Not sure about my pacing but that will come through time. Had Jo Whiley pushing me on which was nice. Even though my choice of music was maybe not the best to start with.

Have a flip belt copy so it held my keys and my phone no bother. Bluetooth headphones were great.

Over all happy with D1. If anyone is looking for company starting out give me a shout.

... and which C25K programme are you following?

This forum follows NHS C25K....

Week one

Begin with a brisk five-minute walk, then alternate 60 seconds of running and 90 seconds of walking, for a total of 20 minutes.

Not sure why you are doing 3.72 and 31 minutes on the first run???/

It's the NHS one you. Where you choose from 4 coaches timing is via my Garmin which I forgot to stop straight away hence 31min.

Yes. Managed to actually find the midway point to turn back so I finished where I parked the car. Which in itself is an achievement 😄

When I started... it took me a while to remember to turn around at the half way point... as the runs got longer... the walks back home got longer :)

Is 3.72km not good enough start? Too slow ? Too fast?

Slow and steady is the name of the game...no such thing as too slow... just listen to your body... remember that after 9 weeks you are hoping to do three thirty minute runs. comfortably!
