So overweight 57 yr old male is back out pounding the pavement again... third attempt at C25K.
First one last year was curtailed due to not obeying the first rule... I didn't get my gait analysed and knackered my right ACL and achilles using unstabilized cheap shoes. Healed up and started wak]lking the course then started again... this time it was work and a house move.
A year to the day I started the last attempt I dusted off the Brookes for World Running Day... wasn't too bad. Now completed 2nd run of week 3... and so far a few mild pains but nothing during running so think it's a strengthening issue rather than damage.
Stretching before and after is really helping as well. But three minutes... who'd have thought I could sustain that not once but twice during a run and then go out again a few days later and do it again!

Brilliant - well done for not being defeated and getting back on it! Doesn't it feel great to do something you didn't think you could do? I know I've only managed this by following all the advice to go slower than I thought was actually legal (assumed the running police would lock me up for going so slow!) - and doing stretches and sticking to the 5 min warm up and warm down walks.
You can totally do this - you ARE doing it - fabulous!!
