Completed this run this morning. I found it not too bad, apart from the pain in both my shins. Any thoughts on this?

Hi simon7730 from the website:
Some new runners starting the programme experience calf pain or sore shins (sometimes known as shin splints).
Such aches can be caused by running on hard surfaces or by running in shoes that do not have enough foot and ankle support.
Always do the the five-minute warm-up walks as instructed in the podcasts before each run, and check that your running shoes are offering good support.

It happens... the new exercise and the impact our body is getting from the running is understandable.. New runners may complain of shin pain, calf ache, ankle ache, knee pain.. all manner of things
At this early stage, our muscles are not yet strong enough, really to take the pressure off the tibia, and that is where the, ouch, factor for the shins, comes in
That is why slow and steady is so important.. some strengthening exercises too, are essential... landing lightly too may help... So much to think about isn't there?
