I'm staying in downtown Birmingham tonight, near the Station and a friend recommended that I could maybe run around the canals. I'm an early morning runner, so would be looking to go out about 6:30 tomorrow morning and just wanted to get some advice from anyone locally on whether it would be safe at that time. Thanks

Sorry I've only just seen this. Did you run along the canals? We have plenty of them here in the West Midlands. Personally I don't run on them as I feel isolated doing that. My son loves them though.
I didn't in the end - I don't know Birmingham at all and felt a bit worried about running a route where I had so little knowledge of the local area
