Well up at 4:27 this morning must get some darker curtains because of the light mornings. started with a nice steady warm up changed direction this morning just for a bit of variety had been playing with the Garmin and had set it for pace/time which was a bit confusing to start with but probably helped because I was not focusing on how far I had run. Pace was hovering around 7 minute Km so my attempt at speed may have worked will half to see what happens after the next attempt. I might use my change of route when I do my long run on Sunday with no target set on time or distance.Heard the church bell ring and knew I had 10 minutes left so just kept going and back home. Any how 5k done and knocked nearly two minutes of Wednesday's time so small improvements and even managed a bit of a burst before I finished this morning so I am running inside my capabilities quite comfortably.
A nice early 5k: Well up at 4:27 this morning... - Couch to 5K
A nice early 5k
Wow that is early! 7 min split pace is brill! Definitely invite in some black out curtains
Don't go expecting to knock two minutes off each time. In fact, don't go out trying to beat your PB on every run. Do the ground work of nice slow runs (this is a case of do as I say, rather than do as I do, because I find it very hard to run slowly) building stamina and habit and only push for a fast run once a week at most.
You sound like a man with a plan and I am sure your running will bring you much pleasure.
The birds start chirping at that time too don't they? I know this because they've wakened me up a few times in the last week 🙂
That's a great improvement.
Going for a slowie on Sunday morning it will be about about 17 degrees at 5am when I go not as hot as your run but warm enough. They are having the Steeple Bumpstead 10Km Sunday starting at 10:30 and the temp will be 24 degrees but I am whimping out this year want to get a few more 10 k's under my belt first.
