First run in 7 days due to shin splints.

Went local running shop for assessment got some comfy new shoes.

Slight niggle today from Shins but able to still run on them I took it slow no strava just me and Laura.

Did extra 15 min warm down walk with dog, plus stretches and foam roller.

Am now sitting with ice on shins hoping to keep shin splints at bay.

Oh and I ran for 30 minutes!

well done. Have had some kind of leg pain (not shins so a bit odd) that seems to run off so hoping I can catch up with you. Hope you shins are recovered x

Partly my own fault pushing too soon, Slow is key as is warm down.

Nothing like pain to remind you to warm down and stretch.

Good luck with your c25k journey.

Well done. Hopefully the gait analysis and new shoes will help improve your comfort. 2 more to go. I'm going to start week 9 on Saturday at my local Parkrun. Just finished week 8 yesterday. I'm right behind you, good luck with finishing and I look forward to seeing you on the finish line.

Ooooh Saucony's. Or soccerknees as I call em 🙂

Yeah go steady. Slow as you like! Shin splints are the devil

Strengthening is required in the calves in particular, and everywhere else in general🙂

I'm surprised it took you 4 days to recover - it took me 6 months.

think shin splints covers a lot of different injuries, you must have had a more serious injury.

7 days of no running, legs feel better today even post run.
