Hi folks, hope you're all well. I had hoped to be joining your ranks but I don't think it's going to happen for a while!
After my first W1 R1, I thought I had pulled the Achilles a bit sharply and would be fine after rest, unfortunately I'm still in a lot of discomfort. I was away from home last week and found it difficult to walk normally, pushed through a half mile stroll yesterday (with it getting progressively sore) and today I can hardly put any weight on it so am hobbling around.
I've had quite a few probs post cancer treatment with hips and thighs, knees too, so maybe I'm being too ambitious. I think I will try joining the walking group and ease into things much more slowly (but safely!).
You're all brill and this is such a supportive group, thank you for all the encouragement you gave me. Xx

No, it was more stiff and uncomfortable before, rather than painful. Also I was down in London (I live in Norfolk) so I was a bit stuck. I have got an appt with GP later for something unrelated so I could ask him then - I never take up much time so should have a few consultation mins available!
The Walking for Health forum is great...many of us use it anyway, because it is so good... and have used it also, when on the IC or just off the IC
I wore a heel support for Achilles tendon pain. Weirdly, not the one I ruptured ( falling downstairs...not running), but the other one..it really helped
The programme for walking on the Walking for Health is brilliant.. I am sure you will find it very useful ) Hope everything settles down for you too x
