I've just run a pb at my local Parkrun. Great!!! Now try to get under 40 minutes. I wish I could speed up....but I'm trying to lift my slow 5k to be a slow 10k in September, so here's hoping.

Well done! I'm trying to build up the courage to do a park run ... just a bit worried I'll be the last one over the line!!

It doesn't matter :) I was third from last today but everyone was so nice and the point was to do a 5k. I'm so proud of myself- such a great feel I'd really recommended giving it a go!

I might well give it a go! Will need to find a nice local one with no hills!!!!

Bet you will not be last but even if you were to be the last over the line, you will be 5k up on all those still in bed having a lie in!

Well done. I had a parkrun PB this morning too - feels very satisfying to know you're gradually (well, gradually for me, anyway) improving, doesn't it.

Well done! I did my first park run today- 44mins and my first proper 5k. The Cambridge one was so very friendly!

Well done!! It's a real achievement. Are you going to keep going to Parkrun?

Hi! Well done for doing your first parkrun! I've done 3 since graduating & find it a useful experience. I live in Gloucestershire but am from Cambridge & often back visiting family. Have been thinking about running there - where does the parkrun take place?

Milton country park. Saturdays 9am. Is very flat course and really friendly!

Parkrun is great. You will not be last! You will get so much support. I've been doing them for a year and find them so friendly. I am usually able to run without stopping, but the last couple of times I have needed a few walking breaks. That's no problem though, there were volunteers and fellow runners encouraging me, telling me to catch my breath then catch up again. Even if you end up walking, you are still doing more than the person on the couch!

I love Parkrun, I'm nearly always at the back, but everyone is really encouraging, especially to those of us who struggle in with the tailrunners!
