Follow the couch to 5k programme it's for absolute beginners I started yesterday ,if I can do it lol just start of slowly x
Download the NHS C25k podcast. Put on your trainers and something comfortable to run in. Put your head phones in and step out the door. Listen to Laura and do everything she tells you to.
Keep popping in to the forum for tips, encouragement and motivation.
Then in approximately 9 weeks you will be running for 30 minutes non stop and next year you will be rocking the Race for Life
Sounds incredible I know but just read through some of the amazing stories here and have FAITH (in yourself and the programme)
Sounds great ! X
Welcome Katy, and well done on wanting to start a running program.π Do as Helenwheels says and we will be here to cheer you on or lift your spirits if need be.
The plan works, its your journey and you can take as long as you need.
Good luckπ
Enjoy your new challenge.. ππ
I started 5 weeks ago and hurt like hell trying to run for 60 seconds.in week 1.
Today I've ran 20 minutes solid. If I can do it anyone can, promise ππ»
Hey Katy
I only started with running last Wednesday to be precise, lol. Never ran before, well I have tried and felt so heavy legged that I thought I'm never doing this again.
But I feel there's something about running and I want to do it, so I thought I'd give this Couch to 5k a go.
I have chosen Laura and although I felt as if I was dying, (despite doing it in the heat we had last week, lol) πI finished wk1 run and need to do run 2. Just no time since then with life etc in the way.
You can do it Katy, large girl or not. I'm a medium to large orange haha, so don't worry, running is available and free for us all π€
I think there is a lot of support on here and that's what's encouraging. I just want to get over the heavy leg feeling and increase my stamina, but we can do this. Let us know how you get on x
