I felt it was time for a bit of pay back from me. I want to try and help motivate some of the people on this forum just as they have in the past for me.
I started off about three years ago on the couch to 5 k i used to get breathless going up stairs was very over weight and had type 2 diabetes.
Through those three years I started by running for 30 minutes, runnning 5 K entering fun runs and races, running 10K entering the blaydon races and other 10K races (finishing close to last in quite a few of them). Joining my first running club and then leaving it. Running my first half marathon and really enjoying it. Loosing some wight, becoming reasonable fit.....signing up for my first marathon...getting right into the training running up to 36 miles in one week...completing my first marathon. Hitting my type 2 diabetes into remission and having normal blood sugar levels now for well over 1 year.
I'm not trying to show off. What am trying to say is that whilst I am never going to be anything like mo, I am progressing and enjoying my running and you can do too!

What a great inspirational post and it is what exercise is all about. Doing it for yourself. There are so many benefits and I would say you have every reason to feel proud of those great achievements. Well done.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I am doing this to hopefully turn my life round too. I aim to lose 5 stone and get fitter, it's lovely to hear it's possible.
Thank you for sharing. It's great to hear from people who've proved it can be done. You're an inspiration to us newbies. Congratulations on your success
Lovely, inspiring post - and you don't sound like you're showing off at all! The facts speak for themselves - and you should be rightly proud of all you have achieved!🙂
