CLIMAX CANYON 5K TRAIL RUN

Saturday 05/13/2017 10:00 am MDT

Weather looks great. I expect the trail to be perfect.

Should be about 60° F (15° C) at the start time of 10:00 am and possibly climbing to about 65 (18.3° C) by 11:00 am.

The warm temperature will be good. It's a short run and I need to loosen up. The warm temp will help that a lot.

The last time I ran this trail, last week, I did it in 48:34. I will be extremely happy to hit 45:00 this time. That's pretty slow generally, but will be a huge accomplishment for me personally.

Nevertheless, I am excited and happy to be able to even participate in a 5K for the first time in my life.

I have asked the Lord many times, "please get me through this session. If you don't get me through, I won't make it". Every time, He got me through. I ask Him to get me through at a better speed tomorrow than I have ran it yet. I know He will.

As an adult, I have never really been to keen on my own birthday being anything special. But it's interesting that this event was postponed from it's original date of April 29th to my birthday on 05/13/2017. Is it a coincidence? Or is the Lord giving me a birthday gift?

Thank you LORD for getting me this far.

Early to bed tonight.

Early to rise tomorrow.

I'll eat about 3 hours before race time. Walk there one hour before race time to warm up a bit. It takes about 25 minutes to walk there from my home.

I hope I sleep well tonight with all this anticipation.

5K Tomorrow - I've been looking forward to this for a long time.

Last year, I was injured just before the 5K and had to start all over this year. So, it's been an entire year of working toward this. But only 2.5 months of training to do this.

My training started with something like: run 1 minute and walk 1 minute. Then run 1.5 minutes and walk 2 minutes. Then run 3 minutes and walk 2 minutes etc . . . from week to week increasing the run times until finally, at week 7 it had me running 30 minutes.

I thought it was a miracle that I could run 5 minutes!

Here we go! Tomorrow Morning!

It's 10.16 am and I am sending positive vibes your way. You might have finished by now for all I know but never mind (((((((((((((())))))))))) 🏃🏃🏃🏃💪😃

You have trained for it so I am sure you will be fine. It's good to be able to walk to the start line and run. Beats having to travel and cart stuff with you.

Go GD! 🙂
