Been running regular 5k's since graduating but this last week I have developed a pain in my right buttock when running I have continued to run with the pain but it does not seem to be improving, any ideas what might be the cause and what I might need to do to get rid of it?

Maybe tight Glutes or Piriformis Syndrome (Runners bum)

If you google you will find lots of stretches that might help

I often wonder what I am doing wrong? I read in many places about people having sore glutes and hamstrings - I don't think I even have these muscles as I am unaware of their existence. I am very aware of my calf muscles though - always have been ! :)

I have had abit of everything Baz😩

However since including thorough stretching after EVERY run, strength exercises, regular running-focused yoga, alongside use of the dreaded foam roller. I am currently doing ok ( fingers crossed).

Hi, just a thought .. if it is Piriformis Syndrome my physio recommends stretching, exercises (you can find both on the Internet ) and a hot water bottle. I also have occasional accupuncture.

I had P S before I started running and it hasn't got any worse. If I can feel it when I get home from a run I sit on a hot water bottle while I have my breakfast and that seems to help.

Probably best to get it checked out before it gets worse.

Good luck.

There's always rolling on a 🎾 where it hurts. Stretching and that worked for me.
